Biography

My name is Ruth Craig Kendall. I am a Canadian born artist who has spent most of my life here in Indiana. I   have been painting  for the last twenty years.
Art has been apart of my life for as long as I can remember. Some of my family, also from Canada paint.  I find the art world today very refreshing and exciting. It has opened up many doors to others I enjoy getting to meet. Every new painting brings great rewards of being associated with each on a personal level.
 
I paint in acrylics and I enjoy painting many different forms of art. I find portrait art to be where I find myself most of the time.  I try to show each portrait as real as the person I paint.
For many portraits I paint of the past ...I like to research each person to get a better idea of each one.I have for the last ten years shown my Native Americans on different hides throughout the U.S.  
One of these paintings is now on display in the Black Hills of S.D. where you will find Crazy Horse on a buffalo hide in his museum.  To see what is going on at Crazy Horse's memorial you may go to their web site at:  www.crazyhorse.org    I believe you will find this very interesting.
I also paint portraits of today's people and wildlife.  And  my modern art where I feel free to expess myself.
