An eighteenth century American fort, built in 1794, is a desirable city for all! Fort Wayne, Indiana has a variety of features that are appealing to all. The city offers one of the top ten Zoo’s in the United States, the largest public genealogical collection in America, the Lincoln Museum, and a well-known Botanical Conservatory.
Fort Wayne’s is full of adventure. There are many things to do and see in Fort Wayne. One of its better-known attractions is the Fort Wayne’s Children Zoo. Child Magazine, in 2004, named the Children Zoo one of the top ten children zoo’s in the country. Fort Wayne’s Botanical Conservatory is great for an outdoor or indoor sanctuary of nature’s wonders. An array of theatre’s and museum are also available such as the award winning Lincoln Museum and the historic Embassy Theatre.
The Three Rivers Festival is perhaps one of the most well known annual events in Fort Wayne. It is a 9-day celebration in the month of July that includes an art fair, public performance, concessions, a marketplace, and a parade. It is the second largest festival in Indiana with an attendance around 400,000 people.
